Larry Jiménez is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Medellín, Colombia, working in acrylic and mixed media on canvas. His practice fuses Dripping and Scribble Art — a constant dialogue between control and freedom, where the human figure emerges from layers of movement, texture, and raw emotion.
Inspired by Latin American, Mexican, and African cultures, Larry's portraits carry identity, resistance, and authenticity beyond literal representation. His work has been exhibited at the Palacio Nacional and Centro Comercial Villanueva, both in Medellín, and is collected internationally. His career as a professional tattoo artist under Dot and Drag Ink has deeply shaped his relationship with line, rhythm, and the living surface.

Artist Statement
My pictorial work explores the tension between control and spontaneous gesture, fusing the energy of contemporary urban art with the language of expressive portraiture. Through acrylic and mixed media on canvas, I develop compositions where the human figure emerges from layers of movement, texture, and emotion.
My style is built on the combination of Dripping and Scribble Art — techniques that allow me to integrate chance, intuition, and direct action into the creative process. Paint flows, falls, and expands while the gestural mark intervenes with free lines that defy academic rigidity. This dialogue between chaos and precision defines my visual identity.
More than pursuing traditional technical perfection, my intention is to capture real energy: the instant where emotion, movement, and matter meet. Each work functions as a living record of the process, where imperfection becomes language and the painting preserves the memory of the gesture.
